The planet Mars has long been the subject of speculation among both scientists and SciFi writers, alike. This can probably be at least partially be attributed to the fact that Mars is not only close to the Earth, relatively speaking, but also because Mars is not that much smaller or dissimilar to the Earth.
The fourth planet from the Sun, just after Earth, Mars is approximately 53% the size of our planet. Although the atmosphere is fairly thin, made up of mostly Carbon Dioxide, it is still dense enough to have weather patterns that include wind storms. In fact, sometimes the Martian winds will blow up to and in excess of 60 miles per hour. Because the atmosphere is only about 1% as dense as here on Earth, the winds do not have the same effects on the landscape as they would on Earth. Being fairly baron, at least as observed from our home planet, the only interesting things you might see from here are the seasonal ice caps and an occasional change of color in parts of the surface. Mars seems only mildly interesting until you delve more deeply into the pictures and data that we have been able to compile over the years.
For many years now, scientific journalists like Richard C. Hoagland have postulated that there is more, much more, to the Mars story than NASA and our government reveals. Some think that our government has known for decades of an alternate Martian history line from the one that is officially published. A history line that includes the possibility that certain surface features point towards an intelligent civilization that may have existed in the distant past.
There are many pieces of evidence that point towards a Martian history that includes an intelligent civilization. The most popular in years past was the “Face on Mars” that was originally photographed by the Viking 1 spacecraft. This area, known as Cydonia, was later photographed by the Mars Global Surveyor, where the images release appeared to have been smudged in order to blur the image of the face. Some speculate that NASA or the Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) purposely blurred the image in order to dispel the belief that the structure was artificial, or was created by an intelligent civilization. For whatever reason, probably something to do with funding, the more recent images have been blurred beyond recognition.
Another interesting piece of evidence, are the pyramid structures that were found close to Cydonia and the face. These pyramids are structured and appear to be in some sort of grouping, as can be seen in this image. Although worn by the winds of Martian weather, the shapes of several of these structures are unmistakable. Images like this, and many others, serve as visual evidence of an intelligent civilization that lived on Mars many eons ago. You may be able to refute opinions and speculations about Mars and its history, but when you come across leaked images that do not appear to have been significantly altered by NASA, the visual evidence is compelling. There is the odd “internet expert” these days, that will dispute evidence simply for the sake of trying to form a cogent argument, but in the face of facts, they generally fall into the category of lacking credibility.
Then we come to Dr. John Brandenburg, a PhD. plasma Physicist. Recently Dr. Brandenburg has written “Death on Mars: The Discovery of a Planetary Nuclear Massacre“, where the good doctor outlines his evidence that some 200-500 million years ago there was a nuclear explosion set off above the surface of Mars. Although this might sound sensational, the evidence that such a blast occurred is overwhelming. Dr. Brandenburg lays out the facts that there is a scar on the surface that mimics what we have seen on the surface of the Earth after nuclear tests are conducted. Trinitite, green glass balls created only during a nuclear blast, have been found at the site where the scar is. Then you add in the coup d’etat, which is the fact that there are massive amounts of Xenon 129 in the atmosphere, and this isotope can only be produced during a nuclear explosion, it becomes clear that there was some advanced civilization that lived on, or visited, Mars, and they ultimately destroyed life on the planet. We also find a large deposit of Xenon 129 on the exact opposite side of the planet, which tells us that the nuclear blast was so large, that the shockwave swept its way around the planet and collided with itself on the far side. When this happened, the Xenon 129 was deposited. An explosion of this magnitude would surely have swept clean the surface and expelled the atmosphere into space, leaving the baron landscape we see today.
Sadly, we may never know the details of exactly what happened to Mars and the Martians that lived there. We may know how the planet became baron, but not why and, at least for now, who the players were that contributed to the catastrophe. A catastrophe that turned this once-thriving planet, into the dead wasteland that it is today.
