Obama en route to Chicago, with daughter Malia

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is en route to Chicago to push the Supreme Court nomination of Merrick Garland at the University of Chicago Law School on Thursday afternoon. His daughter Malia, who rarely comes with him on official trips, is traveling back home with her dad.
FROM THE POOL REPORT: POTUS, accompanied by Malia Obama, walked across a chilly, damp South Lawn at 12:13 p.m. and boarded Marine One.
The chopper was wheels up for JBA five minutes later, en route to Chicago.
Malia typically doesn’t travel with POTUS on official business. Your pooler will leave the speculation as to to why she’s traveling
