Man charged with Beach Park shootings arrested in Florida

A man who shot two people last month in north suburban Beach Park was arrested Wednesday in Florida, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.
David C. Rivera, 28, was charged in Lake County with two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and three counts of aggravated unlawful discharge of a firearm, all felonies, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
About 6:25 p.m. March 23, two men were shot in a vehicle near the intersection of Yorkhouse and Sheridan roads, according to police. They drove to a nearby McDonald’s, went inside and asked employees to call 911.
